One good thing about working in Victoria train station in Central London is that right across the road is the world famous Apollo Victoria Theater, which is currently playing the musical 'Wicked'. My sister is coming to see me in November sometime and has expressed an interest in seeing it with me. I go for my break, stand for 10 mins trying to cross the road in heavy London traffic, get my flyer from the theater, go for food, sit down to read my flyer .. AND ITS GONE. *cries*. I don't know what I've done with the damn thing. Anyway, I've lived in London for 4 years now and haven't yet been to a concert or theater, of which most people are shocked by! I plan to change this though.
So tonight I am going out with my old work peeps. I can't wait to catch up with them all and discuss my new job
. Just to catch up in general as I miss working with them all
.
Its so damn cold today. My toes are like small blocks of ice!!
The title ... Oh, that title speaks volumes ...
Hi all!
I am definetly settling in a bit more at my new job now and things seem to be going good :). Kalen I took your advice and turned a potentially scary situation into a positive one, which has made the whole experience a lot better :). Getting to know people better now too. I think things like that just take time to settle and then you can get yourself into a 'normal' routine. The last few days I have been dispensing most prescription and the pharmys checking them off. There are two pharmys, one works in the morning and the other in the evening. I get on with both equally as well. I love this job, but wish my hours weren't as grueling. Ah well, such is life, right?
Just sat here drinking Bells scotch whiskey mixed with lemonade. On my 3rd. Going to regret that one tomorrow probably ...
I have just set the 'coming soon' page for my domain (http://riotaudio.com). Keep on checking it!! Bookmark and all that jazz :D. Mail me sweet stuff (nic@riotaudio.com).
Night. xx
3 days in to the new job, I think I can give a fairer posting about it all
.
I am loving it, but commuting in and out of Central London is tiring (I work in Victoria). Also my hours aren't really helping either. I do the 12.30PM till 9PM shift. ACK! I get home at about 10PM. Sucks to be me, though I am sure I'll get used to it. The people there are lovely, friendly and helpful. I am still getting to know everyone there still so I can't say much on that score. I am still amazed at my achievements thus far. I have gone from being a cleaner to a pharmaceutical dispenser .. Literally clawed my way to having a career and now working in London gainin that sort of experience is something that I'd never dreamed would happen.
Life .. isn't it funny?
I am duplicating my myspace posts at the moment till I can figure out what i can do with this blog ...
Because I was so lazy and didn't get up early this morning, I royally fudged my plans of .. A) purchasing a new shirt for my new job induction (which is tomorrow) and B) Going in to London to see how the trains ran. *read on*
Ok, got in to town and bought my bits 'n' bobs, this was about 4PM. Met Jamie at 5PM, got on train to London Bridge at 5:34PM. On the ride there the train was so packed that most people had to stand. I however was quick as lightning and managed to get a seat, unfortunately I had some ladies arse practically glued to the side of my head most the way. I am starting to get a bit worried of my train change to Charing Cross from London Bridge as I have never been to that station before .. Holy shiatzu .. It was so busy --> insert grumpy me here, and I didn't have a clue where the fecker I was headed. Anyway, me being amazing (I am .. !) I eventually found the right train to Charing Cross and got on it. Arrive at Charing Cross, Central London at around 6:35PM. learn that several trains back home have been DELAYED AND CANCELLED, I then learn it will be an hour before I can get home --> insert very sad Nic here. I tehn look around some shops in Charing Cross and try waste as much time as possible, great! Then I go back to the departures board and learn my train is delayed a further 34 mins. By this time I am so fucking fed up of the busy station I ring just about everyone I know to pass the time. Ok, I get on my train home .. AND .. There is a problem with the line I am on so the train is delayed AGAIN. We are all advised to go to London Bridge and change ... It took me 4 HOURS in all, from start to finish .. So I am not looking forward to tomorrow. Wish me oodles of luck as I more than need it.
Other than that I am darn tooting ;)
